True North Brass
This outstanding brass ensemble impressed audiences last year with their fine musicianship, presentation of less familiar pieces from the brass repertoire, and exciting brass arrangements of more well-known works. This year, they will be performing a programme which includes selections by well-known Canadian composer and conductor Howard Cable (Ontario Pictures), Republic of Doyle composer Jim McGrath (Three Miniatures), True North Brass tubist J. Scott Irvine (Meditations on a Huron Carol), and Gary Kulesha (Divertimento for Brass Quintet). Work by Alastair Kay, a member of True North Brass who has also played for many years with Rob McConnell’s Boss Brass, will also be performed.
