SweetWater is honoured to offer to area piano students and teachers an opportunity to perform for and be instructed by Canadian pianist/composer Daniel Janke. This is a chance to try out Kiwanis Festival or exam pieces, obtain feed back, re-enforce technique and get new ideas in a very positive atmosphere. This performance class is open to students performing at any level, not only the most advanced. Teachers, friends and family are welcome to listen and learn. The idea is to share knowledge, encourage each other and gain inspiration.
Daniel Janke is a pianist and composer of a wide variety of musical genres: film scores, string quartets, music for dance and many more. He lives in the Yukon but also works in Montreal and throughout Canada. Check out the bio and career of this very experienced and interesting musician online CLICK HERE .

With approx. 20 minutes per student, performing part of a composition may be advisable. A list of the works will be sent to Daniel prior to the class. If performing with music, it would be a benefit to have an additional copy for Daniel. Although this not a composer’s workshop, an original composition by a student that a teacher deems appropriate could be considered for performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience and grow as artists. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marion via email.
