Standing Room Only Event Raises Funds for SweetWater
March 7, 2016
It was a full house on Saturday, March 5 at Up Close & Personal with Mark Fewer and Kati Gleiser, a fundraiser for the SweetWater Music Festival. The standing room only crowd enjoyed an incredible performance at Gallery de Boer in downtown Owen Sound. Thousands of dollars were raised to support the 2016 Festival.
“I was quite overwhelmed by the numbers, the energy, and the tremendous support for the Sweetwater Festival that was present in the Gallery de Boer on that sunny, Saturday afternoon,” says Colleen Purdon, Vice Chair, SweetWater Board of Directors. “As Mark (Fewer) said, it was a celebration.”
The afternoon concert with Mark Fewer and Kati Gleiser was a special musical treat, as well as a chance to experience both of these fine musicians in a unique and personal way.
“We are also fortunate and thankful for everyone that came out to support the Sweetwater Music Festival,” adds Colleen. “As you know, SweetWater depends on the generosity of these supporters who help to bring musicians and luthiers to our community every September. We could not have a Sweetwater Music Festival without their support.”
A special thanks to the volunteers who helped out at the concert and to the staff of Gallery de Boer for their contributions to making this a successful fundraiser.
