SweetWater Welcomes New Board Member to Team

The SweetWater Music Festival Board of Director recently voted to approve the appointment of a new Director effective on November 19, 2020. The Board welcomes Michael Allder as a Director-at-Large.

 

He has spent much of professional life working as a producer and director of feature-length documentaries and TV current affairs programs. Over a period of 14 years at the CBC as an Executive Producer, he worked on numerous programs and project including producing The Nature of Things. Earlier CBC work included The Soul of a Song  (about the enduring power of gospel music) and he directed and produced a musical special profiling jazz singers Ranee Lee and Karen Young.

 

Michael was also a staff producer at the NFB overseeing documentaries including In the Key of Oscar, a film portrait of jazz pianist Oscar Peterson. Earlier CBC work included The Soul of a Song  (about the enduring power of gospel music) and he directed and produced a musical special profiling jazz singers Ranee Lee and Karen Young. He also has wide-ranging experience as a speaker, workshop leader, panel moderator,  and served on the organizing committee of the World Congress of Science Producers. 

 

Michael and his wife recently hosted a Garden Concert at their home outside of Annan to kick-off four days of music in September as part of SweetWater Surreal Live.
