An Update for Our SweetWater Friends Regarding COVID-19

                                                          May 1, 2020

It's important to us to stay in touch with all of you as we navigate these ever-changing times due to COVID-19 and physical distancing restrictions.

SweetWater is carefully monitoring how the COVID-19 situation is currently evolving and what impact it may have on our September festival plans. The Board and staff are taking into consideration all available information and guidance from health and government agencies as we continue to plan for concerts and events during the second half of 2020. The safety of all involved is a top priority. Our Artistic Director is also regularly communicating with SweetWater 2020 performers to keep them updated.

Though things have changed this spring from what we originally planned, SweetWater has evolved and is developing new ways to bring music to life. We recently launched a new opportunity for aspiring, emerging musicians, the Next Wave Virtual Showcase, In June, you’ll be able to enjoy video performances by young musicians on an online stage. In April, we unveiled a way for you to take a musical trip back in time, SweetWater Redux, You can relive special SweetWater moments from past festivals and concerts. Finally, you can enjoy music performed by our Artistic Director Edwin Huizinga, A Music Moment with Edwin. Stay tuned for new posts from Edwin and SweetWater Redux over the coming weeks.

Your ongoing support of SweetWater continues to be an integral part of our success year after year. This is especially true right now. SweetWater wants to provide opportunities for musicians over coming months as many are struggling due to cancellations. Plus, students are missing out on music education opportunities. We’re now working on online alternatives beginning later this spring. Your donations to SweetWater will be a big part of making this all happen. Remember, you can always DONATE ONLINE. Thank you!

On a final note, you can rest assured we will always put the health and safety of our patrons and performers first and foremost as we consider options over the coming weeks.

We look forward to enjoying the music soon with all of you. Stay healthy and well.

All the best,

From the Board and Staff of the SweetWater Music Festival
