Violinist Emily Aquin is a native of Owen Sound. She is
currently located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she has played with various groups such as the Dallas Symphony, the Richardson Symphony and the Abilene Philharmonic. In 2007, she was the proud recipient of the Donna Steinacher Bursary, awarded for talented students pursuing a career in music.
Emily has participated in music festivals around the world, including the Stuttgart European Musicfest, Le Domaine Forget, Crested Butte Music Festival and Interlochen Arts Camp. At the Aspen Music Festival and School, she studied with Herbert Greenberg and with Sylvia Rosenberg.
Emily attended Indiana University, Jacobs School of
Music, and received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music. Her teachers included Ilya Kaler, Nelli Shkolnikova, and Federico Agostini. She is also a recent graduate of the University of North Texas, where she pursued a Graduate Artist Certificate under the tutelage of Emanuel Borok, the concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony.
