LUTHIER CRAFT AND PHOTO EXHIBIT

 

The Owen Sound region is richly supplied with luthiers who practice the art and science of string instrument making. Since 2004 an exhibition of their art has been associated with the SweetWater Music Festival.

 

This year the exhibition will be expanded to include a photography exhibition, demonstrations of violin making and a special concert.

Ten locally made instruments will be used to perform Bach's third Brandenburg concerto as part of the Saturday evening concert at Georgian Shores United Church (Owen Sound)

 

These instruments will be used again to perform a new "Seventh Brandenburg Concerto" composed for this festival by Ontario composer Rob Carli.
